Welcome to AutoSitemap!

Hi,

AutoSitemap was previously a hosted Google sitemap generator, one of the first generators online after Google launched their Sitemaps program, and one of the most popular! Unfortunately, this popularity resulted in the server becoming overloaded, so I have now decided to offer the AutoSitemap source code as a free download, for you to run on your own website.

I hope you find the script useful, and look forward to any comments or questions.

Cheers,
David.

Hi, I just installed your software and it seems to be working fine, but I have two issues with it. The png logo was corrupted so I couldn't use it on our site, and when google downloaded my site map it only picked up 26 pages (we have about 140,000). Any advise you could give me would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hi Connie,

Apologies about the image corruption, i've now fixed this in the distribution (it was being converted from Unix to DOS format which was only supposed to happen to the PHP files!). Regarding the number of pages listed, please note that AutoSitemap requires that the pages be visited at least once before they appear in the sitemap. Whilst this is a fundamental limitation of this method, it is the only way that it is possible to map unlinked and database generated pages. Over time the sitemap will populate to cover the entire site.

Cheers,
David.

Thanks, David! I think it is a good thing that the software works that way because I think it is better to have our most current and relevant pages in the sitemap. I just wanted to make sure that I hadn't done something wrong! Thanks for this!
